Bioceres requests withdrawal of SEC Registration Statement as a result of major acquisition
Rosario, Argentina (1 February 2017). Following its acquisition of a majority interest in Rizobacter SA, a global leader in soybean biological products, Bioceres announced today the withdrawal of its SEC Registration Statement, as it no longer reflects the current strategic and financial situation of the company.
Bioceres is a fully integrated agricultural biotechnology company utilizing multiple technology platforms to develop and commercialize products that enhance crop productivity and expand feedstock applications. The company is a global leader in drought tolerance technologies, with a soybean drought tolerant event approved for use in Argentina. In the crop productivity space, Bioceres develops and commercializes seeds and integrated products, as well as crop nutrition and protection solutions. In terms of feedstock applications, Bioceres owns a safflower-based molecular farming platform for the production of industrial enzymes, and it is currently developing metabolic-engineering solutions for added value fermentation of different raw materials.
The company is owned by more than 250 of South America’s largest growers. Bioceres is a major shareholder of Rizobacter, INDEAR (Institute of Agricultural Biotechnology of Rosario) and Bioceres Semillas, a partner in international joint ventures Verdeca and Trigall Genetics, and a lead investor in multiple biotech start-ups.
